Well, it looks like they were right. McCain and Palin’s campaign speeches and political rhetoric have caused their supporters to cross the line and physically attack Obama supporters. Except…it’s actually the complete opposite case.
While the Democrat-leaning media continues to scare undecided voters with bedtime stories about some mythical angry McCain supporter whom nobody has seen, here is a real district attorney’s complaint documenting an unprovoked assault by an enraged Democrat against a McCain volunteer in midtown Manhattan: “Defendant grabbed the sign [informant] was holding, broke the wood stick that was attached to it, and then struck informant in informant’s face thereby causing informant to sustain redness, swelling, and bruising to informant’s face and further causing informant to sustain substantial pain.”
Don’t worry, the good news is that they chased the him down and police arrested the guy. I wonder if he’ll be investigated vetted with the same fervor as Joe the Plumber? I’ll expect to see his personal information and voting record up on the web within a couple days.
It’s an interesting story, but not for the reasons you think. I’m sure most conservatives who read this blog, aren’t exactly suprised that the first actual proven incident of violence (not the unsubstanciated kind you’ve been hearing about). Just take a gander at DemocraticUnderground and DailyKos to find out where the real rage is coming from.
The article describes the attack.
He rushed towards them, grabbed a McCain sign off a volunteer’s hands, and tore it apart. That didn’t seem enough.
I said, “What are you doing? You can’t do that!” And he was red in the face screaming, “You people are ridiculous!” And I said, “Yeah, whatever, but you can’t do that.”
So I reached for the sign that he ripped up, and he grabbed another sign, broke it, and ripped it to shreds. And when I said, “You can’t do that,” he took the stick from the sign and started beating me on the head with it. He broke the skin on my head, he scratched my wrist, and almost broke my glasses, and then he left.
No, to me, the interesting part is going to be what happens to this guy. Like I said before, I wonder if his personal record and information will be thrown into the public eye as fast as Joe’s?
Oh, as a side note, I love the guy’s statement after he’s arrested.
I followed him down the stairs to the subway until I could get the police and I said, “You’re not going to get away with it.” And as soon as he saw the police he immediately went calm. He still had the stick in his hand, and you could see the injury on my face, and he admitted it. He was arrested. He actually said, “I don’t know why I did this. It’s just those signs, and this election, it has me so upset.”
See, it’s not his fault (absolving any personal responsibility of course). Well who’s fault could it possibly be then? Maybe it’s the Obamessiah’s decree to “get in their face”. This loser was probably just watching that speech on a poor tv and misheard it as “hit them in the face”. Or, he also could have been inspired by this “art piece” of Sarah Palin being punched in the face.
I’d like the MSM to tell me once again which campaign’s supporters are full of rage? Furthermore, I wonder if we’ll be hearing them demand Senator Obama apologize for the behavior of his supporters like they were demanding from McCain.
I won’t hold my breath.
