The last informational email has been sent out, the last detail has been planned, and all the morons are on their way to the city of Chicago for an invasion into enemy territory. If you’re still on the fence about coming, there have already been quite a few get-togethers in other cities, all of which have gotten nothing but positive reviews from those who attended.

Allright, so over at Ace of Spades, someone got the notion that it would be a good idea to get a group of conservatives together for some beer drinkin’, bible clingin’, and hobo huntin’. I was dumb enough to agree, and decided to step forward and organize it myself.

I got this article via AoSHQ, but wanted to add my own commentary on it.
I could take the gun rights side of it, but it’s pretty easy to see that by allowing this former Marine to conceal-carry, he prevented any harm to himself or the store employees.Perhaps you could even make a decent argument that this will act as a deterrent to anyone else thinking about knocking over the home of the 5 dollar foot-long (that song is in your head now, isn’t it?). This is obviously, a good thing.However, the relatives of the two perpetrators don’t seem to think so.
Gadson’s grandparents told Local 10 on Thursday that Lovell was wrong for pulling the trigger.
“He should not have taken the law in his hands,” said Rosa Jones, Gadson’s grandmother.
Her husband, Ivory Jones, also condemned the media for its portrayal of Lovell’s actions.”I don’t condone what they did, (but) I definitely don’t condone the news people making him out to seem like they’re making a hero out of this man because he shot somebody down,” he said.
Personally, I find the reactions of these grandparents disgusting. Do they not realize that their grandson was robbing a store at gunpoint?Perhaps if they had told their grandson that those who play with fire (in this case, guns), often get burned (shot), they might not be mourning his death today.I don’t mean to sound callous, but I’m offended that these relatives don’t even seem to take into account these kids were committing armed robbery, and would rather speak out against the man whose life was threatened by their own grandkid! Once again, nobody ever wants to assign responsibility and consequences to one’s own actions.
So if Mr. Lovell wasn’t supposed to take the law into his own hands, what was he should he have done instead? Allow her grandson and his cohort to threaten and possibly shoot the innocent people in that store including himself? Would that have been a much more pleasant outcome for you grandma?

Like other members of the moronosphere, I’ll keep track of incidents like these, you know, just in case people start reading this. What I’m talking about is basically the failure of the media to correctly identify members of the Democrat party when they are involved in “questionable” behavior or events.
Legislator James Fagan (?-MA) was on the House floor arguing against Jessica’s Law, a proposal that would put in place mandatory 20 year sentences for repeat sex offenders. He went on a mini-tirade claiming that as a defense attorney (which he is) he would mercilessly question the child victims of rape. He said he’d rip them apart, make sure that the rest of their life was ruined, that he was…well…see for yourself.
This is a HUGE decision for gun-carrying citizens across the US. The 5-4 Supreme Court decision might take a while to work its way to actually changing D.C. law, but it’s the start that many (including myself) were hoping for. Scalia wrote the majority, as some had predicted.
Writing for the majority, Justice Antonin Scalia said that an individual right to bear arms is supported by “the historical narrative” both before and after the Second Amendment was adopted.
The Constitution does not permit “the absolute prohibition of handguns held and used for self-defense in the home,” Scalia said. The court also struck down Washington’s requirement that firearms be equipped with trigger locks or kept disassembled, but left intact the licensing of guns.
It’s only a matter of time now before the NRA will file a lawsuit challenging these same gun laws in Chicago. there’s actually a July 11th rally here in the city for those supporting the same change to Chicago/Illinois law, and I plan on being there to document the event in a similar fashion to zombietime.
Now I myself am an athlete and sports fan. Usually though I tend to favor the more physical contact sports. However, I have been getting the recent urge to try taking up golf. Now I know that it takes a lot of time and a lot of money (both of which I do not have) to get good at it, but it’s just in the back of my head that one of these days I need to go to a driving range and start putting in some time.
However, had I known that these were the kinds of perks young golfers get, I would have dropped my football and baseball bat in a flash. If this somehow became regular occurance, I’m sure that you’d see a sudden boom in the popularity of golf, beyond what Tiger Woods has already done.
BROOMFIELD, Colo. — A close encounter between flirtatious strippers and children playing in a golf tournament was the result of “mistiming,” golf course officials said Tuesday as they apologized to parents.
The scantily clad women spilled out of a limousine as the youngsters were finishing their game as part of the Gold Crown Junior Golf Association tournament Monday. Tournament officials said they were not warned the strippers would be arriving before the end of the game for children, who ranged in age from 7 to 12.
The women were part of Shotgun Willie’s Charity Golf Tournament to benefit breast cancer. The strippers were to serve as caddies to patron’s of the strip club. A club manager said there were 144 golfers and 70 caddies.
I wasn’t aware that Ace had his own country club, or at least it sounds like his kind of operation.

A woman told KUSA-TV the event drew curious questions from her children, who asked her why the men joining the strippers had water guns and why the women wore only their underwear. KUSA said the woman declined to be identified.
